I found this car on craiglist really cheap for its year and mileage, its a lincoln towncar 2006 model with 46k miles for 2100$ shipping costs included, the car is located in tusla OK,I live in vegas, should i be suspicious? The ad on craiglist only has an email adress, no phone nothing,I emailed the person and said hes a military and will go to london for 3 years and dont want the car to be ruined in the open,he mention something about google wallet and said I have a 7 days inpection period for the car and wont receive the money until I approve it and my money will be safe, the car will be shipped in military cargo, what you guys think?
100% SCAM for so many reasons 1 - Google Wallet is ONLY used on ecommerce websites that have a Google Wallet Buy button on the payment page. It is NEVER used for person to person transactions. It is ONLY accepted at the websites listed on the bottom of this page - Mlitary Cargo DOES NOT transport private vehicles for any reason. Military transport can only be used for military vehicles - jeeps, tanks, etc. and there is NO shipping charge 3 - Craigslist is ONLY for face to face CASH transactions. If the car was in Tulsa it would have been listed for sale on Craigslist Tulsa, NOT Las Vegas 4 - there are NO US military stationed in London for 3 years. The ONLY US military in London are the Marine Guards at the US Embassy who serve a 12 month tour 5 - Shipping a car costs about $1800-2500 so there is no way it would be $2100 including shipping cost 6 - if the car really existed they would never have to ship it - they could walk into any local dealer and get minimum $5000 cash in hand in 5 minutes if they were the legal owners of the car 7 - I don't know how many more warnings Craigslist can have telling users that any offers to ship vehicles are scams. Before you get to the car listings, this page comes up for some reason you didn't read it, then on the top of every listing page in big capital letters and underlined it says "[ AVOID OFFERS TO SHIP VEHICLES ] " Then on every individual listing in red and purple letters so you can't miss it, it says "Avoid scams, deal locally! Do NOT wire funds (Western Union, Moneygram). Beware cashier checks, money orders, shipping, non-local buyers/sellers. More info" then when you click on More Info this page comes up with the same warnings buy any vehicle unless you can see it in person, test drive it, have the mechanic of your choice inspect it AND verify washington PERSON that the seller's license is the same name as on the title or you are sending money for a car that doesn't exist, buying a lemon with no way to get your money back when you discover it needs $3000 worth of work or buying a stolen vehicle which you won't discover until you go to register it Want to prove it's a scam - write back to say that it's such a coincidence but your buddy Jeff or Matt or whatever is also stationed in Tulsa and is also shipping out so they are probably in the same unit. Say that you want your buddy to inspect the car on your behalf and if it's all ok then you'll send the money -- then wait for the excuses. Report the ad ASAP to Craigslist to get it removed. At least 50% of cars listed these days seem to be fake. Any time you cannot see the car and meet the owner, it's a scam
