I have a serious interest in relocating to the Atlanta or North Carolina area. I've been planning to take a trip out there this summer to speculate on things and "toss irons in the fire". But today at work, I thought it'd be really good if I took up a few classes or enrolled into college to learn more about my trade (legal) to further myself in future positions. We dont have tuition reimbursement here. I cant get grants & I dont want a student loan. I think its expensive to attend classes in NY, but I also wondered if it'd be a good idea to study a year here first & then make my move to the south so I can take what I learned & be in a better position to command a better salary. Or should I move to the south as planned & study once I get there? Would it make a difference? Are schools more affordable in the south?
I'm already highly skilled in my field of work and can land jobs but I thought if I studied more in different areas that would make me more marketable and in a better position to command a higher salary. I just wondered if I should study here for about a year first or should I just go on to the south and study out there. I dont know which is the best move to make.
If you are highly skilled in your area, you may never need to study to further your chances. Education gives a better start but rarely a move once you have already started. Your experience is more valuable to the employer than any degree you may get.
You should move to oklahoma first before you take classes. The reason is that in oklahoma they might require different skill sets than in NY. When you market yourself, you should check out the market itself first. Also, tution is cheaper in oklahoma and they do have good schools. If you market youself say you are studing locally, I think you have a better impression on your clients. Like you are a local, not some big shots from NY.
I THINK U SHOULD MOVE FIRST, THEN GO TO SCHOOL.ALOT OF JOBS WILL PAY U TO FURTHER YOUR EDUCATION.I WOULD TRY TO FIND ONE OF THOSE.YES EVERYTHING IS CHEAPER oklahoma THE SOUTH, COMPARED TO NY. BUT THE SALARY IS LESS.YOU ALREADY HAVE THE SKILLS TO GET A JOB.GET THE JOB TO PAY FOR SCHOOL,THEN LEAVE THE JOB WITH NEW SKILLS IF U ARE NOT HAPPY AT THAT JOB.I DONT KNOW WHY PEOPLE FROM NY/NJ AREAS LIKE S.C./N.C./G.A. SO MUCH...EVERYONE IVE MET THAT IS NOT FROM HERE(S.C.) IS FROM N.Y. oklahoma N.J.
