AIG: A Bill to let Big Government Set Your Salary in a little-noticed move, the House Financial Services Committee, led by chairman Barney Frank, has approved a measure that would, in some key ways, go beyond the most draconian features of the original AIG bill. The new legislation, the "Pay for Performance Act of 2009," would impose government controls on the pay of all employees -- not just top executives -- of companies that have received a capital investment from the U.S. government. It would, like the tax measure, be retroactive, changing the terms of compensation agreements already in place. And it would give Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner extraordinary power to determine the pay of thousands of employees of American companies. ------------------------------------- Long story short, the gov will now assume the power to retroactively change the salaries of regular employees (not rich execs) at any company which recieved bailout money. Please tell me this is not a march toward socialism
"Well capitalism failed to serve the people so we the people are using our government to stop capitalism from harming any more Americans." -- History has shown us that socialism or any other model of government has been largely unsucessfull, capitalism is the only medium by which we have EVER seen prosperity, even thought it has faults, it is the best we have, if we give gov all the controll to give us everything, we give with it the control to take everything away.
Notice how he did it, he has bonuses signed into the stimulus bill, then back tracks and has it taken away, now they use that as an example for going into company's payroll. All this with the Congress and the president on board of course.
You are right on many points but I have to disagree with you on a few key ones. "and even now are the most ardent supporters of killing healthcare reform." I have explained this many times before... the private healthcare cartel WANTED the "reform" bill to pass because it gives them more power, more control, and more profits. It's not a "reform." The pharma companies WROTE THE BILL and provided millions in minnesota funds to get it passed. It gives their servant government more power to enforce their monopoly. The FDA was already in their pocket but that just wasn't enough. This will be a thousand times worse. You correctly acknowledge that both parties serve the same interests. Where you go wrong is assuming that it's all about who has the most $$$. It's not all about greed and profit. There are worse motives at work in the world. Has it occurred to you at all that automobile companies are like insignificant specks of dust compared to OIL companies, who themselves are beholden to even more powerful private central banks? Even OIL companies are just servants in the greater hierarchy of global affairs. Did it ever occur to you that maybe the global oil industry is about more than just making money? Do you know what's more valuable than money? Geopolitical influence. Control. Controlling the source of the energy that all industrialized nations need to exist is worth far more than all the money in the world. A tightly controlled cartel, be it an oil cartel, a banking cartel, or otherwise, has the power to start and end wars, or create or destroy entire nations! Alternative energy was not crushed by automotive companies to protect their profits, it was crushed by globalist bankers and their oil companies to protect the geopolitical influence that their control over the oil market affords them. At the very top of the food chain, you have a group of people who literally issue currency for their own use. Why on earth do you think they would be motivated by greed for more money? Money is only useful to them in its capacity to purchase more influence around the world. Greed is the oil that greases the wheels of the global crime syndicate. It's one factor of human nature that the globalists can always count on. It keeps everyone nice and cooperative, all the way down the hierarchy. But if you think simple greed is the source of all corruption and deceit, you are only looking at a small piece of the puzzle. In the greater scheme of things, even international corporations are just small potatoes with no real power. If you want to get to the true sources of global influence, you have to follow the money trail all the way to its origin. Private central banks.
In fact, the bill would not regulate pay for all workers but rather regulates compensation only for employees of financial institutions that have received federal assistance. Additionally, the bill regulates pay for those institutions during the period in which the public investment in them remains outstanding.
So what? In socialist countries the government determines everyones salaries. Secretary General Leonid Brezhnev decided who earned how much in the Soviet Union. Stop complaining and get used to it. We won.
Be quiet! Dems don't like the world to know they really are pushing socialist or facist economic policies. They want everyone to come quietly and not say a word until it's too late.
Well capitalism failed to serve the people so we the people are using our government to stop capitalism from harming any more Americans.
Oh, this is Socialism to the tenth degree.
It is! And can you believe all of the blind people out there who can't see it? It's really kinda sad, isn't it?
Actually it's a march towards fascism.
Welcome to the American Socialist Republic.
