There is little actual benefit to space travel. Maybe someday we might find another planet that we can inhabit, but the travel itself will always suck. Your body is not meant to endure it and your bones become very weak. You are exposed to high levels of radiation and there isn't any way to make a quick trip to a hospital if you are gravely injured or ill. Fuel, accidents,room to move, food and disposal of waste are all either shortages or accidents waiting to happen. It takes an extremely long time to get anywhere we haven't already been and know is uninhabitable.
