Okay, I'm totally jealous that you get to go to New Yok for A week. I'll be honest, The Wicked lotto is ALMOST impossible. 200-300 people show up for 28 seats. Here's some tips- # 1. ALWAYS bring a friend/ family member. You don't want to be the only one with you're name in. I once offered a hobo to put his name in for me for 5 dollars. #2. Try for every show you're there for. If you get in on a Tuesday, There is the Tuesday show @7, Wednesday matinee at 2, Wednesday show @ 8, Thusday @ 8, Friday @ 8, Sat @ 2, Sat @ 8, and Sun @ 3. Weeknights less people show up, so you have your best bet then. Just keep trying and hopefully you'll win. #3. Always bring cash for your tickets. They will not accept credit cards, checks, etc. Just cash. #4. Have photo pennsylvania with you so no one gets cheated. #5. Don't try to put your name in twice, you'll get caught then banned from the lotto forever. Okay, now you know the basics to lottery-ing, but what time do you show up and stuff? For future reference, a godsend. I'll just copy and paste the important stuff here though, okay? Here are the official rules for Wicked lottery ( per Playbill.com) "Wicked Lottery Rush: Each day, two hours prior to show time (11:30 AM for 2 PM matinees; 12:30 PM for 3 PM matinees; 4:30 PM for 7 PM performances; 5:30 PM for 8 PM performances), people who present themselves at the Gershwin Theatre box office will have their names placed in a hat. Thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for 28 front-row seats at $26.50 each. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of 2 tickets per person, cash only. Photo-ID. " Alrighty, so as long as you try for every performance until you make it, you'll have no problem. Make SURE to have a buddy. Onwards to Avenue Q we go! Lottery= Impossible. There are 10 seats they give away. After you lose the Wicked lottery, saunter right over to TKTS, and pick yourself up some tickets there. Don't worry, they ALWAYS have them. --------------------------------------... Why not see some more shows on your trip? I'll list the easiest ones to get last minute at TKTS RENT- A groundbreaking musical about 7 friends struggling with live, love, AIDS, drugs, and of course, paying the RENT. Whether it's your 1st time or your 100th time, there is No Day But Today to see RENT! Blonde: The Musical! Sorority girl Elle Woods won't take no as an answer and follows her ex-boyfriend to Harvard Law School! Pleasantly plump teenager Tracy Turnblad teaches 1962 Baltimore a thing or two about integration after landing a spot on a local TV dance show. All of the above are some of my favorites and are always available on TKTS. Good luck and have fun!

RE: Does Wicked still have a lottery? If so, what would be the best days/times to try? I'm going to NYC the week of 6/24 - 6/29. Does Wicked still have a lottery? What days would I have the best chance for that lottery or any other lottery? I also want to see Avenue Q. Should I try lottery or TKTS? Thanks!!
Well, I won the lottery in sf in February and if u don't win they'll usually still have tickets available. Sometimes they even have special discounts for those who were in the lottery but didn't win $25 tickets. Since you can only get 2 per ticket, my friend and I got tickets and my mom was able to get mezzanine seats for $40, which the man working there said happened sometimes. Sometimes those seats are better than the ones you win since you win side orchastra seats, and the mezzanine can be in the center.
