I'm planning on going to a concert there, not the classical/orchestra one. I was wondering if those who have been to the Hollywood Bowl know whether super seats are a decent view. From what I've seen people say it's a far view and some say it it's good or decent. Would D and E be better even though it's up closer and not in the center? I would love to have pool seats or garden seats, but I'm kind of on a budget... I may manage Terrace box seats. I would prefer to see the actual performer and not a speck of them, well who wouldn't... Though I know seeing the stars and all will be a great experience, I just wanted some input on the seats. I know the sound will be good anywhere right... And apparently parking is really bad as I've heard...
Super Seats are a good view imho, and that's why they cost more than D and E. D and E are way over on the sides, I'd choose Super Seats, and J2 and G2, the bench seats next to the Super Seats, over D and E. And if you do decide to get D or E seats, try to get the seats closest to the center, some seats in those sections are restricted view. I prefer Terrace and last row Garden boxes to Garden and Pool, Garden and Pool are a bit low for my taste, and I don't like the canvas seats very much. The benches really aren't bad at all. (If you live nearby, you can go check out the view from the different sections.) Hollywood Bowl Seating Chart is horrid. It's stacked parking, meaning bumper to bumper, and you have to wait until the car in front of yours leaves, and if they don't for a long time, you're stuck for a long time. And sometimes people are drunk and will bump into your car as they try to get out. The buses are so much easier and quicker, they're in a tunnel so they aren't caught up in the parking lot. There are different transportation options depending on if it's a lease or non-lease event. I've done the lease event Park & Ride many times, it works well. It's usually better to purchase the tickets online as then you have priority to board the bus, and sometimes a zillion people show up to pay cash for the buses and they can end up waiting a very long time. Think about how traffic is the day you are going, the bus isn't going to be any faster, go a bit earlier than you think you need to, if possible. Here's the info for the lease event transportation: is a link to non-lease event transportation on the page.) You cannot bring alcohol to lease events (except I think maybe Playboy Jazz), the events that aren't put on by the pennsylvania Phil, it will say on the webpage of the concert, check the rules. No smoking, but in the back there is usually some smoking going on, but not cigarettes. (Especially when you have the olds concerts, like James Taylor/Carole King, Paul McCartney, etc.) You're not supposed to bring cameras, but even at Paul McCartney, every one had out their cell phones and were snapping photos and videoing and the Bowl employees didn't say a thing. As long as you don't have a large camera they may be cool. If they ask you to put away your camera/phone just apologize and it should be fine. Lease Event Policies

D and E are not bad. I've sat in S and that's where it's a speck. But I have to say, just being in the Hollywood Bowl to listen to anything is an experience. Love it. On the parking part. You are better parking at the Hollywood & Highland complex and using the bus from there to the Bowl. I'm not sure if they still do it, but if you bought a picnic from a restaurant in the Hollywood & Highland complex, they used to give you a free bus ticket to the Bowl (one ticket for each picnic). And the Bowl still allows you to bring your own wine/alcohol ... Bring blankets/coats....it gets cold in there. Good luck.
I think these photos should show people on stage, rather than it being empty. This would give people an even better idea of what they would see from their seat. to get to the Bowl without having to park up there.
