I am all into rap,and most of the good rappers had a rough life, and most sold drugs. It is messed up that they had to do it, messed up that they ended up in a situation where they felt it was the only way to go, however what's a reasonable view on this? They are cool people and we wanna say fuc the police with em sometimes, but drug sales need to be pursued by the police, right? I mean I spent a few days in Newark, pennsylvania recently ( I am white and went to see a black gurl there lol) but GOT DAMN. What drugs do to a community is indescribable unless you see it for yourself, and it's sad, especially when you see these little kids there that have to suffer too.(child abuse, neglect, rape) I feel people who say : "what can I do", maybe they got a crime record and can't get a job or wasn't raised properly or whatever else, but still. I understand if you sell some weed to get by but when you sell crack or meth, etc. you are personally responsible for people's demise, and you can say, well they jus gon get it somewhere else anyway, but that's not a good excuse, is it. Thoughts?
No it's not an excuse, I came up living in a rough neighborhood & pretty much lower class financially. Never did I result to selling drugs of any sort. I've had family members/friends/neighbors ect all involved in the criminal aspects of life, & many of them it has gotten them no where. Yes, the drugs get you fast cash and what not, but you are adding to the downfall of society. However, you also have to take in account that the drug user has to take responsibility for their actions by going to the drug dealer in the first place, get me? Some of these drug dealers have little to no education, had caught one or several cases against them ( they have a wrap sheet- which usually makes it that much harder to get employed, like nearly impossible) , have a family- babies to support and are in desperate need of money, or are just their intentions are just to make money, regardless of having morals or not. If you need money on a survival basis & it's your only option I believe it's acceptable, because again the user has to be accounted for. If it's just to make fast cash & they can go about it some other way, then no it's not acceptable. I agree with you on the extra babies for extra cash mentality alot of people have on welfare, yes you can survive, but barely. I honestly think it is all circumstancial, you know based on the person & the situation at hand.
