I am a huge fan of top gear ( The BBC show that reviews super cars), but I am unsure if there is a car that for the money could even come close to the GT-R..The GT-R is faster than a Porsche Carrera GT that cost almost 4 times as much...is the GT-R truly one of a kind..I am not trying to sound biased but am only curious to see if it really has any competition and why other car makers cant make a car for the same amount of money that is just as good?
If you want a new car, yes. But you can get used Italian sports cars today for really low prices - I saw an '04 Gallardo for sold at $80,000, which is about the price of a new GT-R. And if that's not cheap enough I also saw Ferrari 355, a Corvette Z06, a Viper, a 911 Turbo and an Aston DB7 all sold for $50,000. But if you're looking for something faster than an R35 GT-R, save up for an R35 (around $76,000) then buy an old Audi S4 (1997-2002 models can sell for below 10 grand) or an E36 platform BMW M3 (also below 10 grand) and use the change for tuning that to beat a GT-R.
Even though I work for Nissan and I know a lot about the GT-R it's really hard to say. Typically, depreciation rates are even for most cars and trucks. However, when you get into the supercar range the rate flattens. It also depends on condition, mileage, and production number. If Nissan is still making it in 2013 then picking up a 2010 will be easy and more affordable. If they were to stop now, then watch out. They'd be hard to find. There are a lot of variables involved here. Personally, my favorite body style vette is the c-5. You can p/u good used 99/00 models for 10k or less. Careful with that GT-R though. New motor will run you 30K.
The corvette Z06 is very close in terms of performance and price, it actually outruns the GTR after 60mph and from a roll. The Corvette ZR1 would be the next step up and at a 100k it offers world class performance and many features not found on the GTR such as very expensive carbon ceramic brakes. Bang for the buck nothing competes with the Corvette and the GTR. With the GTR you are getting Carrera GT performance for 4 times less money. With the ZR1 you are getting Zonda F and Enzo performance for 7 times less money which is why Jeremy Clarkson named the ZR1 his supercar of the year.
I think it is the best sports car under triple digits, sure used older lambos, Ferrari's, db7's, porsche, etc. the gt-r 35 is only a 6 cylinder car! and pulling performance #'s like others v8,v10,v12 etc. and be able to stay with them and beat some...the GT-R35 truly is a work of art and that's base model! the Spec-V is improved a bit BUT it's around $175k and not sold in the US YET.
Corvette ZR1 would be a far better supercar which outperforms the GTR after 0-60 and 1/4 mile. its faster l/2, roll performance and also has higher grip rating. not to mention more tracks have the ZR1 has the fastest car / lap times. unless you want to look at pennsylvania campaign nurburgring lap times.
09 ZR-1 is faster in most aspects, and only a little more expensive. I'm not sure, but I'd bet the base Vette, or a Z06 would be pretty close on both accounts. The base Vette is definitely cheaper.
Yes I bought one. It is really great although it cost a whole lot. It impress alot of people. You should get it if you can afford it.
I dunno ive seen the new GTr beat lambos and ferraris then ive seen them get spanked by them too so i think it all comes down to what you do to your car
Its badass cuz the steerign wheels on teh right.
